How it works
- Choose an old photoFrom your library. Black bars of film stills are trimmed on their own.
- Line it upThe old photo lies over the camera: as a ghost, as outlines, or behind a curtain you drag.
- Follow the hintsTurn the camera, step closer, level the phone — until it says “lined up”.
- ShootHands-free when the views match, or with the button, waiting for the phone to steady.
What’s inside
- The new photo is cut to the old one’s frame and turned the same way, so the two match exactly. Landscape film stills work with the phone held sideways.
- Compare then and now with a curtain, and save a collage of both — stacked or side by side, with captions like “1987” and “2026”.
- Where the old photo was taken: from its location data when it has some, or pinned on a map. Walking directions, and a compass that tells which way to face when the old photo recorded it.
- A map of all your places: the ones still to retake and the ones done.
- No accounts and no ads. Your photos and places stay on your phone; anonymous usage statistics can be turned off in Settings. Privacy policy.
